Many fruits and vegetables contain the antioxidant compounds called &#8216;phytonutrients&#8217;, which have the beneficial effect of keeping us healthy by boosting our immune system. To date, scientists have managed to index almost a 1,000 of these unusual compounds, and advances in preventative health care and nutritional research are advancing day by day. Recent studies have indicated the phytonutrients found in fruit provide a whole host of natural health benefits, such as the anti-aging power of blueberries, the joint pain relieving properties of cherries and a whole host of powerful properties in pomegranates to name a few examples.</p>
<p>Blueberries contain an array of antioxidants and have a lower natural sugar content than many other fruits. Fruit juice provides many benefits and can be a more convenient way to consume fruits. Benefits such as improving our circulatory system and an increasing our ability to ward of illness. Although they help to prevent disease, the powerful antioxidants contained in these fruits can also help fight disease and infections as well. A vegetarian diet is generally a healthy one but there are some important nutrients lacking if no animal products are consumed.</p>
<p>Children can benefit from a hormone and preservative free diet that vegetarian foods can provide. Before you put your child on a vegetarian diet however, it is worth doing some research into it. Be sure that you are giving your child everything he or she needs to grow up strong and healthy.</p>

By adopting the vegetarian diet, many obese people could correct the problem of too much protein and animal fat in their diet and increase their intake of fiber. A key benefit is in alkalizing the body. The more alkaline we can keep our systems, the less liklihood of developing disease.</p>

Our digestive system uses hydrochloric acid to digest and process food. When stomach contents try to go back up the esophagus, it causes the feeling of heartburn.</p>
<p>A short term solution may appear to be the over the counter drugs that are heavily advertised. But carefully consider other options as these drugs can create additional nutritional deficiencies. It may not be an instant cure, but the best solution is to make adjustments to your diet. Eliminating foods which may have caused the acid reflux condition should provide relief,and within a few months you should find your stomach has had a chance to settle down considerably. It may take a while, but if the number of times you experience heartburn decreases, you may be able to enjoy some of the foods you stopped eating. </p>
<p>The important thing is to stay conscious of how certain foods affect you, and adjust your meals accordingly. Good nutrition creates a foundation of health that will last a lifetime.</p>
